Amber Resin

This is small pieces of true Baltic amber -- the same ancient fossilized resin that is made into jewelry. Amber resin is intensely protective and binding; it's nature is to preserve. As such, it can be used in magic for healing in that it preserves and binds the body together. But its most powerful use is in protecting people and objects. You can melt the resin and paint it over effigies, burn the resin as a protective incense, or infuse it into a protective oil. Be careful, though, since the powerful magic of Amber is to prevent all change, and not just harmful, negative change.
