Horseshoes are considered a good luck charm in many cultures. One possible theory for this is because they are made of iron and have power to ward off faeries and other unwanted, otherworldly guests. Blacksmiths and farriers are traditionally ascribed with magical powers (like Tubal Cain, and Wayland the Smith) so the luck may come from them. Whatever the reason, hang these antique horseshoes over your door to bring good luck; hang them points up unless you are a farmer or a blacksmith.
