This is the powdered inner root bark from Mimosa hostilis.
The Mayans of Mexico have used the tannin-rich Jurema to stop wounds for thousands of years. The root bark also yeilds a pink-red dye in water and is used in soaps and skin care products for its colors and rejuvinating properties. Additionally, Jumera is used to create an Ayahuasca analogue, a use which is illegal in the United States.
